It's not just ANY awards program. It's New York Construction News' annual awards program dedicated to honoring the best projects and the people who build and design them in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. ENTER NOW!
How to Enter:
There is no limit to the number of projects that can be submitted, providing each submission meets the eligibility criteria.
Projects for consideration may be submitted by an owner, developer, construction manager or general contractor, engineer, or subcontractor.
All submission information must be submitted in a binder
1. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A typed description of the project. This description should summarize the project (including cost and project scope) and detail the challenges in the design and construction of the project and solutions developed by ALL disciplines, including the architect, engineer, construction manager, general contractor, or any of the subcontractors. The entire description should not exceed four double-spaced typed pages. It is recommended that the lead paragraph include a brief description followed by bulleted challenges by discipline and the solutions to them.
2. PHOTOGRAPHS: A minimum of two (2) captioned color or black-and-white photographs (NO DIGITALS) and three (3) 35mm slides must be submitted for each project. If a project is not complete, renderings or computer-generated illustrations may be submitted. Photographs and other illustrations can not be returned.
3. JUDGING CRITERIA: Unlike other project awards, NYCN's Best Of 2002 Awards will be judged on the challenges faced on a project by various development team members and the solutions that were developed to meet those challenges. These awards are about teamwork and how the team worked together to address individual project challenges. Include all the challenges team members faced both individually and as a team.
4. A list (project directory) of ALL primary contractors and subcontractors involved on the project, including a contact name, phone number and address must be submitted.
5. All criteria must be met. No exceptions!
Both public and private projects in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut which will be substantially completed (at least 90 percent) by December 31, 2002 will be eligible for consideration for an award. Size and project cost is not a criteria. Consider all projects your firm is currently working on.
Project of the Year
Based on the determination of the panel of judges, a Project Of The Year Award may or may not be awarded. This top honor will be chosen from submitted projects which fall under the above listed categories and will be judged as providing the best solutions to the most difficult challenges.
Each category winner will be featured in an upcoming issue of New York Construction News. Awards will be presented to the winners in each category.
