Thorton Tomasetti Promotes Top Officers

Engineering firm elevates three. Also, Fujitec America moves to New Jersey.

NEW HIRES

Farid Cardozo has joined engineering, design and management firm Stantec as a senior associate in the Manhattan office.

James Baumgartner has been hired at land development firm, Dewberry, as project manager in the Parsippany, New Jersey office.

John Kennedy has joined New York construction firm Cauldwell Wingate as vice president of Core and Shell Services.

PROMOTIONS

Thornton Tomasetti, the international building engineering and technology firm, has named current Managing Principal Thomas Scarangello as chairman, current President Daniel Cuoco as president and chief executive officer, and current Executive Vice President Robert DeScenza as chief operating officer.

The New York office of international engineering firm Hardesty & Hanover has promoted Anna Volynsky to chief financial officer; Paul Connolly, Tom Duffy, Keith Griesing and Steve Hom to principal associates as well as Brendan O’Shea to associate.

Asif Syed and Daniel Jocelyn have been appointed as partners of New York engineering firm, AKF Group LLC.

Ricci Greene Associates, a justice design and planning firm in New York, has promoted Brendan Siufung Yan, to associate architect.

David Procida has been named senior vice president of corporate business development at Component Assembly Systems, Inc., a carpentry, drywall and acoustical specialty contractor in New York and New Jersey.

HONORS AND APPOINTMENTS

Herbert Newman, founding principal of Herbert S. Newman and Partners PC, an architectural, planning and interior design firm in New Haven, Connecticut, received the C. Newton Schenck III Award for Lifetime Achievement in and Contribution to the Arts from the Arts Council of Greater New Haven.

Patrice Malleus, a principal and vice president at national engineering and consulting firm CMX, received the 2007 Member Recognition Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies.

Michael English, founding partner of Horizon Engineering Associates, LLP in New York, is the recipient of the 9th Annual Benner Award from the National Conference on Building Commissioning.

COMPANY NEWS

H2M, a Melville-based engineering and architecture firm, received the Quality of Life Award from the Long Island Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers for its design of “Treating the Sole Source Aquifer” in Garden City, New York.

Fletcher Thompson, an architectural and engineering firm, has opened a New York City office at 345 Seventh Avenue in Manhattan.

Fujitec America, a manufacturer of elevator, escalator, moving walkway systems and service/maintenance, announced the relocation of its New York sales and service center to a new facility in Clifton, New Jersey.

New York-based construction management firm NCI Construction, Inc. has opened an office at 39 West 38th Street in Manhattan.
