Forest Electric Appoints New Head
The EMCOR Group subsidiary adds new president and CEO. Also, Dick Anderson of the New York Building Congress is inducted into the National Academy of Construction.
NEW HIRES
Brian Casey has been appointed head of the insurance risk management department for Bovis Lend Lease, a New York-based construction management firm.
Rizo Ramusevic has joined Levine Builders, a construction management firm based in Douglaston, N.Y., as director of risk management.
Daniel Spanton has been hired as project manager at DMR Architects, an architectural firm based in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.
David Tweedy, formerly the first deputy commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, has been named a principal consultant at PB Consult, the strategic consulting arm of New York-based Parsons Brinckerhoff, a consulting, engineering, and program management company.
Daniel Fenyn has joined the S/L/A/M Collaborative, an architectural firm based in Glastonbury, Conn., as associate principal.
Wilson “Chuck” Woodridge has been hired as senior project executive at Hillier Architecture, an architecture and design firm based in Princeton, N.J. The firm also has hired David Altenhofen as technical director and Malcolm Quinion as senior associate.
Scott Hoffman has joined Jones Lang LaSalle, a real estate money management and services firm based in New York, as senior project manager.
Ihor Bojcun has been named head of the Princeton, N.J., office of O’Donnell & Naccarato, a structural engineering firm headquartered in Philadelphia.
Sophia Cicilioni has joined Swig Equities, a real estate development, investment, and management firm based in New York, as director of sales.
Cynthia Kracauer has been appointed to serve as deputy director of the New York chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Salvatore Caputo has been appointed president and CEO of Forest Electric, a New York-based electrical contracting subsidiary of EMCOR Group of Norwalk, Conn.
James Rayburg has been promoted to associate vice president of Cannon Design, an engineering and planning firm based in Grand Island, N.Y. David Radue has been promoted to vice president of the firm.
Narinder Chhabra has been promoted to principal of Thornton Tomasetti, an engineering and design firm based in New York.
HONORS AND APPOINTMENTS
Richard Anderson, president of the 250,000-member-strong New York Building Congress, was one of 10 people inducted last fall into the National Academy of Construction, whose other New York members include Charles DeBenedittis of Tishman Speyer, F.H. “Bud” Griffis of Polytechnic University, New York City Department of Buildings Commissioner Patricia Lancaster, and Charles Thornton of Thornton Tomasetti.
Edward Walters Jr., president and founder of the Walters Group of Barnegat, N.J., has been inducted into the Builder Hall of Fame by the Shore Builders Association of Central New Jersey. The Builder Hall of Fame recognizes active association members for sustained and dedicated service to the association and community.
Fatma Amer, New York City Department of Buildings deputy commissioner for technical affairs and chief code engineer, has received the Distinguished Service Award from the New York Society of Architects.
John Tishman, chairman and CEO of Tishman Realty & Construction of New York and vice chair of the board of trustees of the New School in Manhattan, received the Fiorello H. LaGuardia Award from the New School for his contributions to New York City.
Walter Hunt Jr., vice chairman of Gensler, a design, planning, and strategic consulting firm based in San Francisco and with offices in New York, received the 2006 President’s Award from the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Center for Architecture Foundation. The award recognizes Hunt’s fundraising and leadership efforts. In addition, the AIA chapter recognized Richard Tomasetti, chairman and co-founder of Thornton Tomasetti, an engineering and design firm based in New York, for his contributions to architecture and engineering, and for fostering collaboration in the design community.
Joseph Farkas, president of Metropolitan Realty Associates, a real estate investment and development firm based in Bellmore, N.Y., has received the Business Commitment Award from the Long Island Business Development Council for the firm’s recent adaptive reuse project at the Business and Research Center in Garden City, N.Y.
Howard Graf, a partner at Graf & Lewent Architects, a New York-based specialty architecture firm, was selected as the 2006 Business Person of the Year by the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

Fluor, an engineering and construction management firm based in Irving, Texas, has opened a Northeast regional office in Mt. Laurel, N.J. The new office will house 200 of its employees, including 100 new hires.
Golder Associates, an engineering and earth sciences company based in Mount Laurel, N.J., has relocated to a larger space at 200 Century Parkway in the same city.
DMJM Harris, an engineering and construction company with headquarters in New York and Los Angeles, has acquired Korve Engineering, a civil engineering and planning firm based in Oakland, Calif.
Façade Maintenance Design, a New York-based architectural and engineering firm, has received a National Trust for Historic Preservation 2006 Honor Award for the exterior restoration of 90 West Street, a landmark, Cass Gilbert-designed building in Lower Manhattan that was converted from office to residential use.
