Sciame Construction Names New President

Joseph Mizzi has been named president of F.J. Sciame
Construction, while founder Frank Sciame remains CEO. Also, TRITEC Building taps a new president.

NEW HIRES

Martin Hirko has been named president of TRITEC Building, a construction management, design-build, general contracting, and project consulting firm based in East Setauket, N.Y.

Richard White has joined DMJM Harris, an engineering and construction firm based in New York, as executive vice president and corporate director of strategic development.

Steven Friedman has been hired as an associate and project manager and Michael Leonick has been hired as associate and associate department head for the expanded healthcare studio of Lilker Associates, an M-E-P and technology engineering firm based in New York.

John Slinski has joined the Parsippany, N.J., office of Dewberry, an engineering, architectural, and planning firm headquartered in Fairfax, Va., as a landscape architect.

Richard Zimmerman has joined Berdon LLP, an accounting and advisory firm based in New York, as partner.

Adam Schultz has been hired as sales associate at NAI James E. Hanson, a brokerage and property management firm based in Hackensack, N.J.

Anthony Cracchiolo has joined STV Inc., a planning and design firm based in New York, as senior vice president and director of design.

PROMOTIONS

Joseph Mizzi, who recently oversaw the expansion of the Pierpont Morgan Library in Manhattan, has been named president of F.J. Sciame Construction, a New York-based construction management and development firm.

Richard Brown has been promoted to vice president of MAST Construction Services, an owner's representative, consulting, and construction management firm based in Little Falls, N.J., where he will help to manage development of the Newark Arena for the New Jersey Devils hockey franchise in Newark and a soccer stadium in Harrison, N.J., for the New York Red Bulls.

Peter Hennessy has been promoted to president of the New York office of the Staubach Co., a real estate advisory firm based in Addison, Tex.

Salwa Zakhary has been promoted to vice president at the New York office of Cannon Design, a planning and design firm based in Grand Island, N.Y.

Steven Peppas and Charmian Place have been promoted to senior associate at New York-based Polshek Partnership Architects. The firm also promoted Tyler Donalsdon, Charles Griffith, V. Guy Maxwell, Wm. Jack Phillips, Damyanti Radheshwar, James Sinks, Joanne Sliker, Robert Young, and Thomas Wong to associate partner and Felicia Berger, Charles Brainerd, Steven Chang, Penny Cheung, M. Steven Bardsley has been promoted to senior vice president at the Stamford, Conn., office of CB Richard Ellis, a real estate services firm based in Los Angeles.

Varughese Cherian has been promoted to principal at the New York office of Arup, a London-based engineering and consulting firm. At the same office, the firm also promoted: Greg Giammalvo, Tom Kennedy, Rachel Nicholls, and Chris O'Donnell to associate principal; and David Farnsworth, Ivan Jelic, Hannes Lagger, Steve Lasser, Tom Maguire, Peter Matusewitch, Robert Otani, Pat Regan, Ronald Ronacher, and Robert Stava to associate.

Haseeb Ghumman has been promoted to project manager and Brian Carlson and Jonathan DePlanche have been named senior engineers at TVGA Consultants, an engineering firm based in Elma, N.Y.

George Fanous, John Kelly, Brendan Yan, Liana Cernasov, Geraldine O'Mahoney, and Michael Reidy have been promoted to associate at New York-based SBLM Architects.

James Troilo has been named project executive and director of field operations at Hudson Meridian Construction Group, a construction management and contracting services firm based in New York.

HONORS AND APPOINTMENTS

Richard Weeks, president of the marine unit of Weeks Consulting, a marine construction and dredging company based in Camden, N.J., has been elected president of the Moles, an organization of heavy construction industry professionals on projects such as tunnels and subways.

Friends of Hudson River Park, a nonprofit organization that provides private-sector support for the new Hudson River Park on Manhattan's West Side, has honored Douglas Durst, president of the Durst Organization, and Daniel Doctoroff, New York City's deputy mayor for economic development and rebuilding, for their help in creating the new park.

Pat Di Filippo, executive vice president for the New York region at New York-based Turner Construction, won the Daytop-New Jersey Corporate Star Award from the Daytop School for his and Turner's contributions to a new facility at the Mendham, N.J., campus.

COMPANY NEWS

Hunter Roberts Construction Group, a New York-based construction management firm, has launched Hunter Roberts Interiors, a standalone unit based in New York. Lawrence Petretti has been named president of the new unit, with Dan Robertson as executive vice president and Fred Kelly as director of operations.

Harris Smith Design, an architecture, planning, and interior design firm based in New York, has been renamed spacesmith.
