Development Firms Appoint New Officers
Capital, Tarragon, Antares, and
Sapir all announce new senior executive moves. Also, Slattery
Skanska taps a new president.
NEW HIRES
Charles Stark has been
named president and CEO of SYSTRA USA in Bloomfield, N.J.,
which is a division of Paris-based SYSTRA, a planning, engineering,
design, and construction firm specializing in transportation
systems and facilities.
David Friedman has joined
Capital Properties, a New York-based owner and developer of
commercial and residential real estate, as executive vice
president.
W.C. Jack Miller has joined
JRS Architect, an architectural design firm based in Mineola,
N.Y., as vice president of business development.
Gary Pia has joined Kamco
Supply Corp. of New England, a building materials distributor
based in Wallingford, Conn., as director of marketing and
communications.
Stephen Wolfson has been
appointed senior vice president at Tarragon Corp., a New York-based
developer of high-density residential communities.
H. Rok Lee has joined Heitmann
& Associates, a building enclosure consultant based in
St. Louis, as manager of the company's eastern regional office
located in New York.
Bruce Macleod has joined
Antares Investment Partners, a developer headquartered in
Greenwich, Conn., as chief operating officer.
Alexander Palumbo, formerly
of Muñoz Engineering and Land Surveying, has been named
senior executive deputy commissioner of the New York City
Human Resources Administration.
PROMOTIONS
Richard Cavallaro has been
appointed president of Slattery Skanska, replacing Joseph
LoCurto. Cavallaro has also been appointed executive vice
president of Queens-based Skanska USA Civil, Slattery's parent
division.
Gregory Clark, Patricia Scanlon,
and Alan Bjornsen
have been promoted to partner at Cerami & Associates,
an acoustical and audiovisual consulting firm based in New
York.
David Askinazi has been
promoted to assistant branch manager of the Rochester, N.Y.,
office of Dewberry, a civil, structural, and construction
engineering and inspection firm based in Fairfax, Va.
Dennis Cornick has been
promoted to national sales manager and senior vice president
at the Lawrenceville, N.J., offices of Gilbane Building, a
construction and real estate development company based in
Providence, R.I.
Howard Fiddle and Brian
Gell both have been named vice chairman at the New
York offices of CB Richard Ellis Group, a commercial real
estate services firm based in Los Angeles.
Alex Sapir has been appointed
president of the Sapir Organization, a New York-based real
estate holding and development company.
Gregg Piazza and Sissy
Nikolaou have been promoted to associate at Mueser
Rutledge Consulting Engineers, a geotechnical and foundation
engineering and design firm based in New York.
Christopher Roof has been
named director of architecture and engineering for the Hartford,
Conn., offices of BL Cos., a design firm based in Meriden,
Conn.
HONORS AND APPOINTMENTS
Carl Van Horn has been
appointed by New Jersey Gov. John Corzine as chair of the
New Jersey Economic Development Authority. Van Horn is a professor
of public policy and director of the John J. Heldrich Center
for Workforce Development at Rutgers University.
Richard Tomasetti, chairman
and co-founder of Thornton-Tomasetti Group, has been elected
chairman of the New York Building Foundation, the charitable
arm of the New York Building Congress.
