Emily Lloyd has started her
new post as commissioner of the New York City Department of
Environmental Protection. She previously served as commissioner
of the city's Department of Sanitation from 1992 to 1994.
She is overseeing a $16 billion, ten-year capital plan, which
includes projects to construct the city's third water tunnel
and the Croton Water Treatment Plant.
Gerard "Guy" Geier II
has joined as a principal at Fox & Fowle Architects of
New York.
Patrick Gillespie has been
appointed New Jersey's first smart growth ombudsman to coordinate
implementation of the state's Smart Growth Act, which will
provide regulatory relief for development and redevelopment
in specified areas.
Scott Goodwill has joined the
Albany office of Einhorn Yaffee Prescott Architecture &
Engineering as a principal.
Henry Abernathy has joined
the New York-based architectural firm Perkins Eastman as a

Mazher Usmani has taken a post
as assistant manager of the construction services branch for
New York and New Jersey at Dewberry, an engineering firm based
in Fairfax, Va.
William Spencer has been named
by Barrett Co., a roofing firm based in Millington, N.J.,
to lead its national sales efforts.
Mitchell Reiter has joined
the Rockville Centre, N.Y., law firm of Goldberg & Connolly
as an associate.
R. Mark Dempf and Gary
Sorge have been named partners at Vollmer Associates,
a New York-based engineering and architectural firm.
Zvi Boymelgreen has been appointed
CEO of Leviev Boymelgreen, a development company based in
Brooklyn.
Sean Tham has been promoted
to vice president of marketing at W.A.C. Lighting of Garden
City, N.Y.
TPG Architecture, based in New York, announced that four
current staff members have been named principals: Inga
Kruliene, a design director; Steven
Segure, a studio director; Neil
Tucker, a studio director; and Alec
Zaballero, a design director.
Ronald Drucker, a former executive
at CSX Corporation Railroads, has been elected chairman of
the board of trustees at the Cooper Union for the Advancement
of Science and Art in New York.
George Kelley has been appointed
chairman of the board at Langan Engineering & Environmental
Services of Elmwood Park, N.J.
K. Peter Yu, president of the
engineering firm Yu & Associates in Elmwood Park, N.J.,
recently won the 2004 U.S. Secretary of Transportation's Minority
Business Enterprise Award.
Stephan Butler has been named
