David Hughes has been promoted
to chief executive officer at Swanke Hayden Connell Architects.
Before his promotion, Hughes worked out of the London office
and was responsible for the firm's European operations.
Bruce Johinke has been named
president of PB Consult, a subsidiary of Parsons Brinckerhoff.
Johinke has been with the firm since 1987. Most recently,
he served as chairman of PB Power Asia Pacific and senior
vice president of Parsons Brinckerhoff International.
Stephen Karafiol has been appointed
senior vice president at Tishman Construction, where he will
manage projects.
Macon Toledano has joined the
real estate development firm of LeylandAlliance as vice president
of planning and development, where he will oversee the development
of large-scale projects in the Northeast.
Phillip Southerland, Jr. has
joined Skanska USA Building as executive vice president and
managing director based in the Parsippany, N.J. office. He
will lead the company's Life Science group, providing construction
management services for pharmaceutical and biotech clients.
Charles McManus has been named
senior transportation engineer at Vollmer Associates, and
will head the company's new office in Eatontown, N.J. He previously
had been chief engineer for the New Jersey Highway Authority.
Denise Tomasetti has joined
the team at Korman Communities and is corporate sales manager
of Korman's new property in Manhattan, 234 East 46th St.
Robert Lux has been named vice
president for W&M Construction, where he will focus on
out-of-ground construction, institutional, hospital, and public
projects.
John Lawrence has been promoted
to senior associate at Brennan Beer Gorman Architects and
Martin Weiner has been promoted to associate at Brennan Beer
Gorman Monk Interiors.
Anthony Connetta has been promoted
to vice president of the environmental studies and permitting
division of Dvirka & Bartilucci Consulting Engineers.
Dennis Koehler and Joseph Marturano
both have been promoted to vice president in the company's
wastewater collection and treatment division.
Patrick Perno, a member of
Local 14 in Passaic, N.J., was elected general secretary-treasurer
of the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Sprinklerfitters.
Since 1998, he has served as administrative assistant to the
general president and as a trustee on the Plumbers and Pipefitters
National Pension Fund.
Richard Dressel, business manager
of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local
164, has been appointed to the board of trustees of Bergen
Community College in Paramus, N.J.
