Professional Women in Construction recently hosted “Watts’ the Future of Energy & Power,” a special breakfast forum discussing how to meet current energy demands while preserving the planet at the General Society Library in New York City. DOB Raises Bar for Awareness

Engineer Paul Granger and Project Architect Jen Curtin from multi-disciplined engineering and architectural analysis firm, H2M, hosted a seminar to encourage students at Division Avenue High School in Levittown, New York. H2M emphasized that engineers and architects are in high demand as our infrastructure age and are hoping to develop potential career interest in the fields. DOB Raises Bar for Awareness

The New York City Buildings Department was recently presented with the International Code Council’s Raising the Profile Award, which honors individuals or organizations for contributions to raising public awareness of the work accomplished by code officials to improve public safety in the built environment. DOB was recognized for its Scaffold Safety Team, Scaffold Worker Outreach Program and the teams created under the Special Enforcement Plan. Nontraditional Employment for Women celebrated its 30th anniversary during the annual Equity Leadership Awards Luncheon at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in Manhattan.
