NEW YORK CITY (2015) - The mayor announced this morning at a news conference that she is establishing a new Super Citywide Agency to manage all New York City construction.

The new agency will consolidate and coordinate all design and construction activities and bring greater efficiency and lower costs to it's multi-billion dollar program. The new agency will be called City Construction Services (CCS) and be responsible for all capital construction including schools.

The mayor also announced that the Buildings Department would come under this new agency. The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from public officials to industry leaders and has trade union endorsement.

It was also announced that Ms. Linda Rodriquez will head the new agency. Ms. Rodriquez has a long and proven career in engineering and construction with an excellent reputation for her sharp management skills. Ms. Rodriquez was the recipient of an ENR Award of Excellence in 2014.
