Industry Technology in 2009

In the next five to 10 years technology will revolutionize the day-to-day operations of the construction industry and vastly improve coordination and communication among all the parties involved in a construction project.

Wireless broadband internet connections will be commonplace and
hand held computer devices will be as common as cell phones - and as easy to use. Real-time estimating, CADD drawing mark-ups and change order approval will be the standard, and information, entered once into an information technology system, will be shared with everyone and will begin and help move along the business processes - no more "it fell through the crack and never got done". Paperless and wireless. That's the future.
